In 2004, AIG United Guaranty began insuring HLTV loans in Italy. The Milan branch maintains a dedicated team of professionals, who continue to provide claims payment support and outstanding customer service during our current suspension of new business production in Europe. AIG United Guaranty continues to monitor and evaluate these recently suspended markets on a periodic basis. We believe mortgage insurance will continue to be accepted as a strong and reliable risk management option in international housing markets – enabling AIG United Guaranty to return to the European markets, as a stronger insurance company – once the widespread credit and housing finance crises are resolved.
